Being Ordinary

Today is, I understand, the first day of Ordinary time. I have been doing some research, and it seems that this may refer to a number of possibilities:

1. During this season, all the "interesting", "special" and "talented" people in the church need to leave forthwith, leaving only the standard, run-of-the-mill, typical Christians.
2. From now on, only the Vulgate translation of the Bible may be used, as this is the translation prepared for the "common" or "ordinary" people.
3. This is the day when all remaining members of the Church of England are Taken Up into the Ordinariate, and none will be Left Behind.

I welcome your thoughts on which of these would be better for the church.

  2. The Vulgate for ordinary people... that's a good one. ROFL and all that.
And an entirely novel idea it is, too: it was never meant to be for anyone 'ordinary'. Peasants, huh!
