Stacey Bushes Sacked

It is with regret that I have had to announce the resignation of Stacey Bushes as my Ecumenical Development Officer. I'll let her know as soon as she gets back from Walsingham.

While she was on holiday in Rome it appears that she obtained an audience with the Pope. Her claim that she received important information on his Catholicity is irrelevant. Apparently she offered that as long as we can use the "Beaker Rite" we would be happy to rejoin the Catholic Faith

With any other Pope the idea of a group of neo-hippies and semi-pagans led by a female Archdruid would be anathema. But, this being the imaginary Pope who lives in the heads of some traditionalist Catholics, he thought it was a great idea.

Except I don't. If I can't be a Cardinal I'm not interested.

And Stacey is still being resigned.

  1. I think that you have been very cruel. And you can declare yourself to be a Cardinal, unilaterally and no one would blink an eye. That Geezer Ashenden was a secret Bishop with some obscure North Americam Sect, and still carried on as an Anglican Priest until he got a huff over women bishops and their sexuality. He now claims to have followers in different Anglican parishes, but a bit like Arch Bishop Johathan Blake,(who exercises his ministry from his attic) their followers are in their head or are virtual ones, who don't know any better.

  2. May it please Your Grace, you may find the Ecumenical Catholic Church more to your taste. They have lovely gay bishops, so I would think lady cardinals wouldn't be a problem.

  3. Actually there's nothing in Canon Law to stop a woman becoming a Cardinal; although as we speak, prohibitions are being hurriedly drafted in some Vatican cellar, rather as the Society of Apothecaries rewrote their rule-book after Elizabeth Garrett Anderson sneakily took advantage of their forgetting to ban women applicants by passing their exams and thus qualifying as a doctor.
As to the "group of neo-hippies and semi-pagans led by a female Archdruid", there were plenty of those anent the Catholic world in the 1970s and 80s, and they still prowl around southern California, so Pope Francis wouldn't be groundbreaking at all, just dated.
